Archive of the Opere Pie

From July 2022 to January 2024 the Era Società Cooperativa di Ascoli Piceno carried out work on the historical archive of the Opere Pie Gaspare Spontini, which was limited to the documentation present in the premises of the former Asilo Spontini and produced by the organisation from its origins to 1979.

This project involved:

  • the transfer and integration into the Archimista software of the topographical census previously carried out with the Marche Region’s “Over 30” work grant. The integration involved the inclusion of the cards/pages from the archive (volumes, registers, files) already catalogued and the creation of cards for the documentation not surveyed during the work grant;
  • the reorganisation and inventory of all the documentation entered in Archimista;
  • the recording of index entries only if they could be extracted from the title of the individual archival items.

BY CAR

From the A14 motorway, exit at Ancona Nord. Follow the signs for Jesi/Fabriano. From the SS76, coming from Fabriano or Jesi, take one of the following exits:

Castelbellino: then continue towards Maiolati Spontini

Moie: then continue towards Maiolati Spontini

Maiolati Spontini/Castelplanio: then continue towards the historic centre.

WHERE TO PARK

We recommend leaving your car in the free car park in front of the Town Hall, located in Largo Pastori, 1.

Alternatively, you can park in the free car parks in Piazza della Vittoria.

BY COACH

From the A14 motorway, exit at Ancona Nord. Follow the signs for Jesi/Fabriano. From the SS76, coming from Fabriano or Jesi, take one of the following exits:

Castelbellino: then continue towards Maiolati Spontini.

Maiolati Spontini/Castelplanio: then continue towards the historic centre.

Buses must stop at the free car park in front of the Town Hall, located in Largo Pastori, 1.
